Turn perfectly, with charming grace
Try using the ‘cup (palm) and pin (fingers)’ technique for the connection of hands while spinning or turning. This ensures smooth turning and spinning. For using this technique, the partner leading the other has to make a pin with his third and fourth fingers usually, and connect the pads of those fingers to the follower’s hand which is cupped slightly with the thumb tucked to her forefinger.
It is important that the follower keep her palm and wrist facing away from her. This helps in connecting to her partners hand gently. The leading partner can then easily rotate her because her fingers and palm will rotate with his fingers as she turns.
To ensure that this works smoothly on the floor, the following partner should be soft in her movements, especially the shoulder movement and not push her hand above her head where she can't see it. If this happens, it is impossible for the leading partner to suggest to you how many spins he wants and makes it difficult for him to bring your hand down to stop the rotation. When followed properly, this is displayed as perfect lead and follow example that helps in achieving perfect spins and turns, that look utterly graceful.

Successfully fake that you can dance – part II
Here are some more tips to perfect the fake dance act:
Dance with someone you are comfortable with
Pull a close friend to the floor whom you are comfortable with and that comfort is sure to help you in getting confident on the floor. Being comfortable with your partner often tends to turn into chemistry on the floor because you feel nice about being there and doing a fun act. Let your friend guide you and imitate the steps of your friend if need be. Just be yourself!
Dance to have fun!
Someone dancing with a stiff body and tense facial expressions can never look graceful. Keep that in mind while you are struggling to get your steps right. After all, you are not there for an exam. Sport a relaxed body language and look at having maximum fun on the floor. Remember, no one is there to judge you but your excitement levels will be noticed. You could do just random chitchat with your partner to feel more at ease as well.
Croon away baby!
If the music is too loud for you to chit chat with your partner, just sing along the number and you will look like you are having a blast on the floor.

Successfully fake that you can dance
There are many of us who have two left feet but you don’t have to know that, because they fake it well on the dance floor. Well, you can do it too. Instead of being the bore of the party and getting ditched by your date, learn to be a fake dancer. Here are some simple steps to fake dancing:
Move your body to the tune of music
Let your body sway with the music. You don't have to do impressive steps -- just swing and move in rhythm with the music.
Work your hands
If you really are bad on the floor, just behave like you're having fun by clapping while swaying your body from side to side. But don't clap too much -- you don't want to draw too much attention, especially when you are just faking being a dancer.
Do little, do it well
If you feel uncomfortable on the floor, try to do some basic simple steps rather than trying to show off. Just avoid drawing attention to yourself and stick to swaying, moving from side to side, and moving your body more than your feet. You could concentrate on swirling your partner and draw attention on her.

2 secrets to graceful dancing that no one talks about
Dance Kicksteps
Whatever dance you're doing, try not to kick with your toes up. This is good if you're doing Country Western dancing, but not for most other dance forms, including Ballroom. For these, try to point your toes down and to the outside. It looks better and makes you seem more graceful and in control.
Break on 2, 3
breaking on 2, 3 rather than on any other beat and especially on one looks smoother and better. It works wonderfully for transitions as well. It will feel better if you are dancing on the correct beat.
